The goal
A Nigerian team game of hidden signals and bluffing, played in pairs.
Controls
- Tap Pass under your cards to hand one on when you hold the passing card.
- Tap Suspect under a player to suspect them. It costs one of your three points.
- When you're suspected, tap the card types you'll show, then tap Show.
- Tap the Jackpot button when your partner holds four of a kind. You can never call it for yourself.
- Tap the … button at the top right for Chat, Team, Signal, Log and Menu.
- In Signal, search the list and tap a gesture to send it.
- Tap Ready in the team chat to start the round early.
- In Menu, you can read how to play, vote to end the game or leave.
How to play
- Play in teams of two. A game takes 2 to 5 teams, so 4 to 10 players.
- The room's creator picks the length. Long is 7 round wins. Short is 4.
- Everyone starts with one card of each of four types. One player gets a fifth card, the passing card.
- Whoever holds the passing card passes one card to the next player within 60 seconds. If they don't, the server does it for them.
- Collect four of a kind, then let your partner know. Your partner calls Jackpot for you. A call is refused while your partner holds the passing card.
- Tell your partner with signals. Pick a gesture from the list of about 200. Some reach only your partner, most are seen by the whole table, and you're never told which. Fake signals are fair game.
- Before each round your team gets a private 2 minute chat. Agree a code, and change it every round.
- You get 3 suspicion points a round. Suspect anyone, and they must show cards of 2 different types (3 if they hold five). If they can't, they lose their hand and start again. A suspicion costs a point, right or wrong.
- A false Jackpot call costs a suspicion point. With none left, you can't call for 3 minutes.
- The first team to 7 round wins takes the game. That spells J-A-C-K-P-O-T. A short game stops at 4, J-A-C-K.
- If most teams vote to end early, with both partners agreeing, the team ahead wins.
- Anyone can watch a game, and join the waiting line to play between rounds.
What Jackpot tells you to do
- “You do not hold the passing card.”
